Chase Computer Services is seeking a self-motivated, creative individual to become part of its growing web team.  This individual will be responsible for producing, modifying and maintaining websites and web application user interfaces. As developer, this individual will create the look, layout, and features of the website or application. An understanding of graphic design and computer programming will help the individual succeed in this position. The developer will report to the Project Team Leader and will work closely with other web developers, copywriters, content managers, and clients.

The front-end developer will use semantic markup languages such as XHTML and CSS to build modern, responsive web interfaces.  The developer will use scripting languages and frameworks such as Javascript and jQuery to make pages interactive.  AJAX routines will be used to communicate to web services developed by server-side developers for fast database-driven applications.  The developer will integrate their designs into the user-friendly Umbraco Content Management System (CMS) to allow clients the ability to maintain their content driven websites.


  • Designing web page layouts with goals of client in mind
  • Determining technical requirements
  • Planning site structure based on content
  • Updating websites (content, design, and functionality)
  • Performing site maintenance including backup services
  • Troubleshooting and resolving markup and scripting errors
  • Providing accurate time estimates for project scope
  • Contributing to documentation (instructional, pitch, and technical specifications)
  • Training users in CMS
  • Discussing technical solutions with clients
  • Providing innovative ideas for client issues
  • Maintaining a high awareness of industry issues and trends, particularly in regard to accessibility, usability, and emerging technologies, and keeping team members informed as appropriate, with a view to incorporate these in future projects
  • Seeking to develop yourself by learning new technologies and keeping abreast of your market’s developments

Required Education / Experience

  • Minimum of Associate of Applied Science degree
  • Minimum of 2-5 years experience in related field

Required Skills

  • Excellent HTML/XHTML, CSS coding skills
  • Experience with jQuery

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with version control systems such as SVN

  • Experience working with PhotoShop
